The nest itself weighs 1/2 a ton and is 80 ft above a river. Pretty amazing that these birds can deal with some pretty rough weather and wind up there. The two parents are so very attentive to the needs of their 3 babies. Makes one realize why this majestic bird is the national bird of the U.S.
